Discover the timeless art of whittling in this hands-on outdoor workshop led by Arts Council Wood Buffalo's Michelle Foran. Participants will be introduced to the basic principles of working with wood and learn safe techniques for using carving tools. After a guided introduction, you’ll have the chance to put your skills into practice by whittling your own keepsake to take home.
This workshop is designed for beginners and is suitable for ages 16 and up. Youth ages 12–15 are welcome with adult supervision for the duration of the session.
Please note: this workshop requires the use of handheld carving tools and is best suited towards individuals who are comfortable doing repetitive motions with their hands for an extended period of time.Â
