About

Ashley is a local resident raised in Fort McMurray during her formative years. She returned to the community in 2018, after living in Central Alberta with family and to finish schooling.

Ashley has been involved with creative arts for as long as she can remember, from drawing cartoons as a kid, to sketching and writing poetry in her school notebooks, and to finally diving into visual arts crafts (acrylic, digital painting, photography) and fine arts crafts (bookbinding, crocheting). Most of her photography experience is in theatre performance and event photography.

In addition, Ashley also has over 20 years experience in performing arts, having studied Theatre at Red Deer College. She has written, performed, directed and stage managed many on stage performances through the years – you might recognize her as Annie Wilkes from Keyano Theatre’s 2023 production of ‘Misery’. She is also the current board chair of Swamp Rat Experience.

​With a passion for nature, fantasy and mental health advocacy, you may find Ashley’s works to involve a fluid mix of the three. She especially enjoys implementing moon cycles, Celtic and Gaelic themes, as well as trees into her work.
