About the Exhibit
The Fort McMurray Airport Authority is proud to continue the YMM Digital Art Exhibit. Displayed on digital screens throughout the terminal and on the airport website, the exhibit reaches a wide audience of travellers. It offers a professional platform for artists to share their work in a highly visible setting. The 2026 program features four seasonal rotations and a single launch event that will showcase all selected artists together.
2026 Theme & Description: "Viewpoints: Stories Seen and Unseen"
We invite artists to reflect on the idea of viewpoints. This theme explores not just what we see, but how we see it, and what remains beyond the frame. Shaped by geography, culture, history, and movement, YMM stands at a unique intersection where personal and collective narratives pass quietly through. We are looking for works that capture the visible and invisible, the remembered and the emerging, the rooted and the in-transit, encouraging travellers to pause, look closer, and uncover hidden stories. Submissions may include landscape, abstraction, portraiture, or conceptual work. Offer a perspective that invites travellers to pause, look closer, and consider what stories live within the view
Artist selection and exhibition details:
Four artists will be selected for the 2026 exhibit year. Each artist will be featured in one quarterly rotation on YMM digital screens and on the airport website. All selected artists will be highlighted at a single launch event that brings together the full exhibit year. Artists will be profiled on YMM communication channels including social media and newsletters. Each selected artist will receive a $500 honorarium.
