Public Art Call: Valley Line West – Lewis Farms Storage Facility Public Art Project

The Lewis Farms Storage Facility public art competition, open to local and national professional artists and artist teams/collectives who reside in Canada, is held in accordance with the City of Edmonton policy "Public Art to Enhance Edmonton's Public Realm" (C548D). Artists with a connection to this area of Edmonton are encouraged to apply. Based upon a portfolio review and interview, the successful artist(s) will be commissioned to create an artwork.

The Edmonton Arts Council Public Art Program on behalf of the City of Edmonton is seeking an artist or artist team to integrate site-specific public art at the Lewis Farms Storage Facility. The facade of the building provides a highly visible public art installation opportunity. The selected artist(s) will create a series of original artworks that will be installed on the west facade of the building, visible to the train and Lewis Farms Park and Ride. Artwork on the west facade is limited to ten locations that can each accommodate a 4 m long x 6 m high piece. Artwork shall not weight more than 75 kg per square metre. 

Budget:
Artist budget $250,000.00 CAD (maximum, all inclusive) 

Submission deadline:
Friday, June 17, 2022

Interviews:
Late June or early July, 2022

Installation:
October 2024
