The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity's New Musical Theatre Creation program is a three-day professional development workshop designed for emerging and established theatre artists interested in creating original musical theatre works.
Led by acclaimed Canadian writers David Hein and Irene Sankoff, creators of the award-winning musical Come From Away, the program provides participants with the opportunity to explore the creative process behind developing new musicals through workshops, mentorship, collaboration, and hands-on learning.

This program is open to individuals and collaborative teams working in musical theatre, including:
- Playwrights
- Composers
- Lyricists
- Directors
- Performers
- Theatre creators
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Domestic and international applications are welcome.
