Swamp Rat Experience is accepting submissions for Community Productions as part of its 2027/2028 season.
Independent artists, community groups, artist collectives, theatre companies, and other creative teams are invited to propose live productions they would like to bring to the King Street Theatre stage. Proposals may include plays, musicals, one-act productions, original works, or other live performance projects.
About the Opportunity
Selected Community Production groups will take lead on developing and producing their show, including securing performance rights and licensing, building the artistic and production team, casting, rehearsing, managing the creative vision, and overseeing the overall production process.
Swamp Rat Experience will provide support throughout the process, including access to:
- Rehearsal and performance space at King Street Theatre
- Technical support
- Front of house and ticketing support
- Marketing support
- Production guidance and planning templates
- Costume storage
- Available set pieces and props
Community Productions are designed to give artists and creative teams the opportunity to take ownership of their work while receiving support and resources from an established theatre organization.
Submission Requirements
Proposals should include:
- The production being proposed
- Key artists involved and their experience
- A draft budget
- A proposed production schedule
- Information about the artist, group, or organization
- An explanation of why the production is being proposed and how it aligns with Swamp Rat Experience's mission, vision, and goals
Season Dates
The 2027/2028 season runs from July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2028.
