ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Wood Buffalo Excellence in Arts Awards (Buffys) is an annual program that recognises and celebrates excellence across the arts in our region. The program also highlights the incredible contributions artists make to Wood Buffalo.
With this year’s showcase being presented live, Arts Council is looking to hire an event photographer for the Buffys on October 17, 2026. at Keyano Theatre. The photographer will capture key moments of the event for Arts Council Wood Buffalo.
ABOUT THE COMMISSION
Arts Council Wood Buffalo seeks to select one Wood Buffalo-based photographer to document the Buffys 2026 event. Responsibilities include:
- Capturing photos of:
- The Wood Buffalo Excellence in Arts Awards event
- All award recipients
- Sponsors and award presenters
- Guest attendees
- Live performers
- Set and décor
- ACWB Staff & Board
- The photographer will be provided with a shot list outlining the required images
- Responsible for editing the photos post-event and delivering finished images to Arts Council Wood Buffalo
- Provide ten edited images by October 19, 2026 (two days after the event) for post-event promotion
- Submit all final images by November 17, 2026 (one month after the event)
- The photographer must be available from 5:00 PM–11:00 PM on October 17, 2026
- The photographer will report to Engagement Manager Emma Carter
FEE
Arts Council Wood Buffalo will pay a fee of $1,500 for photographing and editing the Buffys 2026 event.
SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL
Please submit your resume via email to emma@artscouncilwb.ca along with a minimum of three (3) examples of previous work.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE
Submissions must be received by 11:59pm on Sunday, September 13, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.
SELECTION PROCESS
Selections will be made by Arts Council Wood Buffalo staff. All decisions are final, and the successful applicant will be notified by September 28, 2026.
