The TD Music Artist in Residency program at MacEwan University is an intensive two-week professional development opportunity for emerging musical artists from across Alberta. The program carries a value of $4,500 but is free for successful applicants, thanks to the sponsorship of TD and MacEwan University. Designed to support artists facing financial barriers and those from underserved or marginalized communities, this residency provides in-depth training, mentorship, and hands-on experience to help artists build sustainable careers in music.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, you must:
- Be 18+ years old
- Be a current resident of Alberta
- Be available to attend in person in Edmonton from August 5 – 17, 2025
What You’ll Gain
This hands-on program provides a comprehensive look at building a career in music, covering:
- Music marketing and branding
- Grant writing and funding strategies
- Music production and studio sessions
- Performance and vocal coaching
- Royalty collection and rights management
Participants will work closely with industry professionals and fellow artists, forming valuable connections that can shape their careers. The program culminates in a final showcase performance at MacEwan University on August 17, 2025.
