Athabasca Tribal Council (ATC) welcome traditional and contemporary Indigenous artists willing to share or demonstrate their skills to apply. As the Festival celebrates Indigenous culture, ATC are looking for artists who both identify as Indigenous and create artwork inspired by their Indigenous identity or heritage.
Please include as much information as possible including photos of yourself and your completed work, as it helps significantly in the selection process. Please note, applications cannot be considered without photos.
Athabasca Tribal Council will review your application and you will hear back regarding your participation within a few weeks of the application deadline of May 31, 2022.
Artist Fees and Reimbursements
ATC working with Arts Council Wood Buffalo, will follow the CARFAC Recommended Fee Schedule to pay artists for their services at the ATC Cultural Festival. Artists are paid for their time at the Festival; teaching, demonstrating, presenting, etc.
Supplies needed for workshops, demonstrations, etc., are a separate cost from the artist fee and will be reimbursed with ATC approval prior to purchase.
For Workshops, the Festival may be able to assist in sourcing and/or purchasing the larger quantities of supplies needed in advance for use at the Festival.
Support for travel and accommodation for Artists joining the Festival from outside the Wood Buffalo region is limited and will be considered case-by-case with prospective artists.
