About

Stacey Grant is a Métis artist, cultural educator, and the founder of FREYJA’S HAVEN: Cultural Arts & Education – an initiative for traditional arts, land-based learning, and community-rooted creative practice. Born and raised in Nistawâyâw/Fort McMurray, her work through FREYJA’S HAVEN brings together beadwork, cultural teachings, story-telling, and mindful programming, all rooted in values of respect, reciprocity, and relationship-building.

At FREYJA’S HAVEN, Stacey shares teachings on traditional medicines and creative practices that nurture identity and belonging. Her youth, community, and Elder & Senior workshops blend art with cultural education, helping participants reconnect with land, culture, and the gentle healing that comes with making things with their hands.

Alongside FREYJA’S HAVEN, Stacey continues a multidisciplinary art practice that includes beadwork, acrylic & watercolour painting, digital illustration, poetry & writing, songwriting, and land-based storytelling. Her upcoming poetry collection, Where the Mourning Gathers, explores grief, loss, and healing through an Indigenous lens, and her visual work often centers flora, fauna, medicines, and stories carried through generations. Her pieces are mainly available through direct commission or in silent auctions through charitable organizations, but new collections are occasionally available throughout the year.

Stacey also applies her creative skillset in digital spaces as the founder of Studio 516, where the team builds person-first branding, websites, and marketing strategies for organizations, artists, and local businesses. Whether she’s beading a medallion, guiding a youth workshop, or designing a digital home for someone’s story, her approach is shaped by deep listening, cultural grounding, and a desire to connect and cultivate an ongoing relationship.
