Arts Council Wood Buffalo Welcomes Alex Sarian for Panel Discussion and Keynote on the Future of Arts & Culture

Arts Council Wood Buffalo is thrilled to announce two events featuring esteemed guest Alex Sarian, President & CEO of Arts Commons, bestselling author, and highly sought-after speaker. These events promise to ignite critical conversations about the arts' evolving role in society and their economic impact.

Sarian will lead a thought-provoking panel discussion at Arts Council Wood Buffalo’s Redefining Relevance: AGM and Panel Discussion and share his expertise and insights during the Redefining Relevance: Networking Luncheon. Both events are designed to engage local artists, businesses, and community members in dynamic dialogues about the relevance and future of arts and culture.

The Redefining Relevance: AGM and Panel Discussion will be held Wednesday, May 28, from 6pm-8pm at Shell Place. It is free to attend with a valid Arts Council Wood Buffalo membership. The panel discussion will also feature local arts and culture leaders Karla Buffalo (CEO, Athabasca Tribal Council), Ana Maria Mendez (Programs, Events & Community Collaboration Manager, McMurray Métis), Eugene Carnegie (Artistic Director, Keyano Theatre), and Liana Wheeldon (Executive Director, Arts Council Wood Buffalo). On Thursday, May 29, Sarian will give a keynote presentation at Redefining Relevance: Networking Luncheon. The networking luncheon will take place from 11:00am-1:30pm at Shell Place.
