The Creating, Knowing, and Sharing: Short-Term Projects component supports First Nations, Inuit and Métis individual artists, cultural carriers, groups, collectives and organizations undertaking artistic or cultural projects lasting up to one year.
Funding can support a wide range of activities, including:
- The creation and development of new artistic or cultural work
- Community-based arts and cultural initiatives
- Exhibitions and performances
- Workshops and knowledge-sharing activities
- Research and artistic exploration
- Collaborations between artists, Elders and Knowledge Keepers
- Artistic production and presentation
Projects should contribute to the vitality and growth of Indigenous arts and cultures while supporting self-determined artistic practices and community priorities.
Eligibility
Applicants must be one of the following:
- First Nations, Inuit or Métis individual artists
- Cultural carriers or Knowledge Keepers
- Indigenous artist collectives
- Indigenous organizations
- Indigenous-led groups
Applicants must also meet the Canada Council for the Arts' eligibility requirements.
