Mâwacihitowinihk Nikamowak: Indigenous Music Residency

The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity's Mâwacihitowinihk Nikamowak: Indigenous Music Residency is a three-week residency designed to support Indigenous musicians in developing, refining, recording, and presenting original music. Named from the Plains Cree phrase meaning "they sing at the gathering (place)," the residency celebrates collaboration, creativity, and the sharing of Indigenous musical voices.

Participants will work alongside experienced faculty, peers, and Banff Centre's professional audio production team to bring songs that are nearly complete through the final stages of development. The residency combines creative exploration, mentorship, and professional recording opportunities in a collaborative learning environment.
