ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My final piece for the Art of Conversion project with Arts Council Wood Buffalo is a portrait of a grey wolf, which not only presents the facial structure and definitive features of this breed of wolf, but also demonstrates human characteristics, particularly its large, hyper-realistic blue eyes that that make you feel more connected to the piece. I chose to do this as me and my senior I was paired with for the project named Frank discussed wolves during our call, and I observed he also had these dark blue eyes, as that is the most definitive facial feature when I am first introduced to a new person. I modelled the wolf to have these blue eyes that struck you when you first look at the art so you would feel more connected and the piece would make you think. – Delaney Dalheim
