ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Through our conversation over two days, I learned that Elspeth always loved to paint when she was younger. She told me that she was from Scotland. I asked her what she loved about Scotland and she said she loved the big grassy cattle fields that were along the oceans edge. She loved watching the cattle grazing on them. Another inspiration for the painting was her lover for Heather flowers that grow in Scotland. She brought a packet of Heather seeds with her to our meetings so that she could paint the picture on the packet. Her painting turned out fantastic and she had so much fun. I decided to add some Heather flowers to my painting as well seeing she loved them so much. I really enjoyed painting with her at Willow Square. I was able to chat with a few other residents as well as they stopped by to check out her paint and watch her progression.
