Call for Board Directors

Arts Council Wood Buffalo (ACWB) is currently looking to fill one position on its voluntary Board of Directors. ACWB is a charitable organization with a mandate to Support the growth and success of the arts. The Board consists of up to eleven members from the Wood Buffalo region, representing different aspects of the arts and business sectors.

Following the Governance Model, the Board of Directors meets once per month to set the policy and direction of the organization with the long-term vision that the arts are valued as integral to a remarkable quality of life. To continue to meet the needs of our organization and the community, we are seeking Board Director candidates with experience in the following areas: non-profit governance; strategic planning; fundraising; and, policy development. All applications that meet the qualifications listed below will be considered.

Qualifications 

  • At least 18 years of age 
  • Resident of Wood Buffalo 
  • Must be committed to the principles, vision, and goals of ACWB 
  • A combination of education and experience in their respective area with an understanding and passion for the arts in Wood Buffalo
  • Maintain a current ACWB Membership

All positions will be elected by the Membership at the Arts Council Wood Buffalo Annual General Meeting May 25, 2023, as per ACWB by-laws.

Nominations for Board Director positions will be accepted from the floor at the AGM.
