Art Gallery of Alberta Sidewalk Cinema: Call for Submissions
The Art Gallery of Alberta is seeking submissions of digital video and film works by Alberta artists for the new AGA Sidewalk Cinema to be presented at the AGA in the Spring of 2021. Take this opportunity to showcase your work in busy downtown Edmonton as part of the first-ever AGA Sidewalk Cinema.
AGA Sidewalk Cinema
The AGA Sidewalk Cinema is a new initiative being launched as part of the City of Edmonton’s 2021 Downtown Spark project, a series of exhibits and experiences that are free, take place outdoors and are safe to enjoy as they allow for physical distancing and small groups. Mounted on the Northeast corner of the AGA building, the AGA Sidewalk Cinema is a street level digital screen with audio, that will be visible from outside of the AGA building.
Through this open call for submissions, a jury will select videos to be presented in a looping program, screened daily from 10am–10pm, for a three to four month period. Selected artists will receive fees for the exhibition of their work.
Submissions should be titled “AGA Sidewalk Cinema” and emailed to [email protected]
Submissions should include the following:
- Brief Artist’s Statement
- Brief Artist’s Biography or CV
- YouTube, Vimeo, or website link to the video you would like considered
Please include description of work, title and date created.
Videos should not be longer than 15 minutes in length.
