Jessica Powder was the first artist commissioned by the Not in Chip campaign in Fort Chipewyan to create beaded Missak pins. These pins are a powerful symbol of showing support for a drug free Fort Chip. Use the Missak symbol to safely take action against drug use, raise awareness and encourage those who are struggling so that they can make positive changes in their lives.

Missak is Cree for bulldog. The Missak is a survivor. It is a force of nature that knows how to adapt to its surroundings, with an ever-evolving energy that never quits. The Missak triumphs over adversity by pushing forward, symbolizing our people’s ability to balance truth with emotional and physical healing.
